3. Identify Phone number from Message
4. Submit a Abuse report to hosting services and upload images and information.

shawacademy.com is a SCAM supported by FACEBOOK

Shawacaedemy advertise a 4 week trial access to its eLearning platform on FACEBOOK, the platform also ask for your Credit Card details and will automatically start deducting from your account on a weekly basis after the trial.There is no way to cancel your membership. Unfortunately, one of my friends was affected and no formal process worked. Only the below workaround.

Firstly, the elearning material is absolute rubbish.

Once you submit your Credit Card Details, there is NO way to remove your account, the process sends you around in circles and there is no way you can contact them or update your information to remove your Credit Card details.

The 1800 is Voice Mail, the cancel@shawacademyscam.com auto responds, advising you to login to website and cancel, then the website tells you to call the 1800 number. The website is very well developed by advanced scammer.

Once you enter your credit card details, the website won’t let you even change the Credit card number. If you report this to your Bank, they do NOTHING to stop this scam and only give you the option to cancel your credit card.

Think about if this happens to your grand parents.. It infuriates me .

Here is how to cancel Shaw Academy membership;

1. Update all details to a fake name; Al Coholic (for fun.)
2. Change you phone number to your local police station. (They will continually call you from a South African Call centre and wont give up.. )
3. Login to your account;
4. Change the payment options to PayPal. They only accept VALID Credit cards or PayPal accounts.
5. Cancel and Terminate your PayPal Account. This will force the Shaw Academy into a error, but at least they will NOT be able to deduct any money and you don’t need to dispute it nor cancel your card.
6. We created a PayPal account and deleted it just for this issue.

It is pathetic that the Banks do nothing to help you. All of the Credit card brands should have a system in place to stop this and FACEBOOK should not allow advertisements from such a SCAM website. Even after reporting they do nothing, until a dispute occurs and the only option is the cancel your credit card.
